Beyond the Usual
Paris & Normandy. The journey began in Paris, balancing iconic historical and cultural sights with cafés, restaurants and neighborhoods. From there, a luxury Seine river cruise carried the trip into Normandy, with charming towns, countryside and the D-Day beaches and battlefields.
Switzerland by rail. After returning to Paris, the trip continued through Switzerland. A standout was the Bernina Express through dramatic alpine scenery, glaciers and mountain villages on the way to Italy.
Bologna & Tuscany. Bologna brought a deep dive into food and culture before the journey moved south to a villa outside Florence. Days included Tuscan hill towns, private winery visits, tastings, a hands-on cooking class and family-owned restaurants.
It was exactly the kind of trip Random Traveler is meant to create: iconic places, beautiful scenery, wonderful food and wine, and local discoveries that become the stories remembered most.
